To get the month off to a great start, we decided to head down to Lash Cafe in Morningside for brunch and to judge for ourselves whether this really was a premiere gluten-friendly, vegetarian-friendly cafe. It most definitely was amazing!!! Set inside a quaint wooden cottage and decorated beautifully, we were impressed from the moment we entered at the homely feeling. Just like entering your grandparents' house!
Not only does the cafe sell amazing food but it also sells artwork, jewellery, scarfs, childrens' toys.... the list goes on. As the cafe is essentially a renovated house, there are a few rooms to choose from, including a small balcony out the back which has full sun.
Lash offers an all day breakfast menu as well as their regular lunch menu. Both menus offer delicious food. They have gluten free, gluten free on request (GFR) and vegetarian options. Plus an All Day breakfast, light meals, hot meals, patisseries, childrens' meals - this cafe does it all!
I decided on ordering the Baked Bacon Eggs - bacon, eggs, sundried tomatoes and cheese baked together and served with gluten free bread and relish. This was simply delicious! It was like eating mini bacon and egg pies but without the pastry. The coffee was quite good too, although not the best I have had.
Table service was a definite bonus - plus the staff were attentive and friendly, making it a most enjoyable experience.
The meals range from $6-$14 - making it extremely cheap and good value for money!
The whole cafe was spotless.
